I found this to be interesting in the fact that the type itself is quite simple but with the addition of simple map-like branches, the meaning of the design is turned completely around. The letters are edited individually to help incorporate each into the design

Christmas is Just Around the Corner

With this post I wanted to find something that contributed to Christmas and this card, I believe does the trick. I like how at first the message of "Merry Christmas" jumps out then as the imaged is viewed, the image of Santa appears, very festive and clever hand drawn type design.

Type on an Object

This is an ad for an investment company showing that by saving up each month, a person could purchase a car. The car is defined with the different month abbreviations. Each one is shaped and distorted to form the illustration of the car body, which very nicely done.

Block Letters to Form Plants

This add uses a very bold type base and uses all caps to help make the statement that people can grow their knowledge base in the Spanish language.

Hand Drawn Type

This ad uses hand drawn type rather well to portray hair and the fullness of it. Type sort of resembles a script font with additional changes added to it

Nice Use of Different Weights of a Font

This ad is simple but still has enough quality to get the point across, the word smoking is emphasized to catch the viewer's attention as well as inform them what the ad is about.

Very simple sans serif font used here and the word dimension is broken up to form a cube, simple yet clever

Chicago T-Shirt Design

This is a T-shirt design that is on one of the shirts I bought on one of my trips to Chicago. At first look the design is of Coca~Cola then when you look at it again it actually reads Chicago. I thought the use of Coca~Cola's design to portray the classic feel of Chicago is very interesting, that is probably why I got the shirt!

Cheeesecaaake !!!!

I have been to this restaurant only twice and the food is very good. I like how their name in their sign flows like cheesecake would, it reminds me of the richness of the cheesecake and the food they have there. It is a serif font but i haven't found the exact font type yet.

Jolly Rancher

This is a very simple logo that I have seen all of my life that I finally stopped to examine it. The font is very bold and is a sans-serif font the y on jolly looks like it has been altered to match up with the length of the l.

Journeys

I have always found this logo to be quite interesting and i like how the "o" becomes a compass to emphasize the fact that journeys take people in different directions. I think this font is altered for its purpose but I haven't found the real font that is used here yet but I will.

Mtn. Dew Throwback

I like the old style of this kind of Mountain Dew, I haven't found the name of the typeface yet but it appears to be a very simple font used for both the name of the product and the rest of the text on the can.

Ekk!! I saw this poster hanging up in one of the halls here at Parkland. I walked past it and then turned around to take a picture of it. I thought it definitely captured the emotion behind career planning. I looked the font up on identifont and found that the letters that make up the word "CAREER" were not an exact match to any of the fonts they had, but the closest one to it was demigrunge. I also looked up the font name for "PLANNING" and found that the font used is Friz Quadrata.

I found this sign while traveling to Minnesota for Labor Day weekend. It's a bar sign that I found interesting. I liked how the number 1 is nicely placed inside the n. I finally got the chance to look up the fonts used in this sign. The main letters "JUST ONE MORE" are in TheSans Basic and the "1" is in Giza One Three.

Typeface Poster Copywright : ITC Kallos

ITC Kallos is a serif font with a calligraphy background that was created by the late Phil Grimshaw, a typeface designer from Manchester, England. Kallos was Grimshaws's first development in the creation of text faces. Kallos was created using traditional values and traditional calligraphic style. Its lowercase characters consists of long ascending and descending elements that add elegance and a calligraphical appearance. The capitals have "romanized" italics,according to Grimshaw,meaning the baseline serifs are removed. The capitals of Kallos also have a classic roman design, by displaying the influence of the pen but yet still proportionate to the lowercase characters.Kallos in translation, means beauty, which is achieved by the use of calligraphic design.
